About our Short Breaks for Carers

Adferiad Recovery's project will support adult carers of people with mental health and co-occurring needs to take a short break from their caring role. The project will offer a mix of solo and group activities to be chosen by each carer, supplemented by day trips and the charity’s existing monthly social/peer support events currently being delivered in each of the charity’s 16 bases.

All respite breaks will be designed to meet the individual needs of the carer.

Short Breaks Include: 

  • Short breaks - cinema trip, dinner out, manicure 
  • Carer group day trips 
  • Social events/peer support groups

About Adferiad Recovery  

Adferiad is a user-led charitable organisation based in Wales for the relief and support of people of any age who are living with serious mental illness, addiction issues, disability or long-term illness, and their families, relatives and carers.  

The organisation works with individuals to achieve recovery and relieve the stresses of unpaid carers through programmes of targeted individual and group support, information, advice, and assistance.
